Hi, My IS has a trailer hitch. !" receiver. It is made uo of three parts. Plus hardware. Two flat side parts, and one cross part with the receiver welded to it. No fancy bends, the two side parts have maybe a 1 or 2 degree bends just to cause them to clear the hardware at the end of the fender. The part with the receiver has a bend of 90 dregrees on each end so it can be bolted to the side parts. If I were to hand build one I would weld a 1/4 x 1 1/4 angle to the cross part and bolt them together. For me that is less of a problem than bending a 6" long plate 90 degrees 1 1/4" from the end of the plate. If the weather is nice on the meeting date I should be there and you could take a look at how it fits. Only problem I have ever had was with the rear brake bleeder. Hitch was not spaced far enough out to miss the edge of the brake cylinder. It scraped material away from the bleeder as the rear wheel moved up and down. Being you will have to buy or make spacers if you build your own hitch this is something you should watch for.
